Gaura Nitai – Divine Forms of Lord Chaitanya and Nityananda

Gaura Nitai refers to the sacred forms of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (Gaura) and Lord Nityananda Prabhu (Nitai), two highly revered personalities in the Gaudiya Vaishnav tradition. Devotees worship them as compassionate manifestations of the divine who appeared to spread the message of love, devotion, and the chanting of the holy names of God.

Lord Chaitanya is often called Gauranga or Gaura because of his golden complexion, while Nityananda, affectionately known as Nitai, is considered his eternal companion and spiritual brother. In many traditions, they are understood as the merciful incarnations of Krishna and Balarama, appearing together to guide humanity on the path of bhakti (devotion).
